Market surveillance authority

The national authority that checks CRA compliance, requests documentation and can order corrective action or withdrawal.

Authorities designated by each Member State under Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 to enforce the CRA. They may request the technical documentation including the SBOM, evaluate products, require corrective actions, restrict or prohibit making a product available and impose penalties of up to €15 million or 2.5 % of worldwide annual turnover for breaches of the essential requirements or of Articles 13 and 14. A complete, retrievable evidence trail is what a manufacturer needs when they ask.
