Importer

An EU-established party that places on the market a product from a manufacturer established outside the EU.

Any natural or legal person established in the Union who places on the market a product with digital elements that bears the name or trademark of a manufacturer established outside the Union. Importers must verify that the manufacturer has carried out conformity assessment, drawn up technical documentation and affixed the CE marking, must keep a copy of the declaration of conformity, and must inform the manufacturer and authorities of vulnerabilities and non-conformities they become aware of.
