Placing on the market

The first making available of a product with digital elements on the Union market.

The first making available of a product with digital elements on the Union market. Obligations attach to each product placed on the market after the application dates; a substantially modified product is considered a new product placed on the market. For software delivered continuously, each version that constitutes a substantial modification is a new placing on the market, which is why version-level records and SBOMs matter.
