Critical product with digital elements

A product in an Annex IV category for which the Commission may mandate European cybersecurity certification.

A product with digital elements whose core functionality is set out in Annex IV: hardware devices with security boxes, smart meter gateways and other devices for advanced security purposes including secure cryptoprocessing, and smartcards or similar devices including secure elements. The Commission may adopt delegated acts requiring these products to obtain a European cybersecurity certificate at assurance level at least 'substantial'; until then the Class II conformity routes apply.
