Authorised representative

An EU-established party mandated in writing by a non-EU manufacturer to act on its behalf for specified CRA tasks.

A natural or legal person established in the Union who has received a written mandate from a manufacturer to act on its behalf in relation to specified tasks — keeping the declaration of conformity and technical documentation available to authorities, cooperating with them, and, where mandated, fulfilling reporting obligations. Non-EU manufacturers without an authorised representative have their main establishment deemed to be where the importer is established or where the product is placed on the market.
